Page | Head of Communications, Draper
Current role: As a member of Draper’s executive leadership team, I lead Communications across our 12 campuses in the U.S. My team consists of professionals who manage various areas of Communications including internal, external, creative services, corporate branding, crisis communications, and social media. Draper is an engineering and innovation company that focuses on solving challenging problems through advanced technological capabilities. We are the company that was instrumental in designing the Apollo Guidance Computer, which made the Apollo Moon landing possible.

Previous roles: I previously worked at VF Corporation – a global apparel and footwear company as Director, Associate Communications. In that role I led global internal communications, including non-desk employees (factories and manufacturing facilities). Prior to that, I held Communications roles at TIAA, Verizon, and Prudential Financial.

A little bit about me: I was born in Jamaica, an island in the Caribbean. At 10 years old, my life as I knew it changed when my parents decided to move to the U.S. It was a culture shock, but I grew to love my new life in the U.S. as it introduced me to different experiences and people. I am most proud of my ability to quickly adapt. I learned this trait early in my life, and it has served me well as I have relocated several times throughout my career. The early lessons from my mom about the U.S. being a “self-help country” resonated as I seamlessly navigated each move while serving as a strategic communications leader. I love travelling and have been to Morocco, France, Spain, China, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Panama, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Belize, Puerto Rico, most of the Caribbean islands, Brussels, Sweden, the Netherlands and Canada.

Fun fact: Lately I have become a pickleball fanatic. I play twice a week and really enjoy it. It’s fun to outmaneuver my competitor and to anticipate their next moves. Pickleball is also an opportunity to meet new people while developing athletic skills. When I have some alone time, I love to curl up with a good book or go on a long hike.

Let's talk: I am fascinated with AI as it begins to shape our lives and become the norm. I am curious how strategic communication professionals will leverage AI in our daily routines to drive engagement and build company reputation.

Page | Partner & Global CEO, LLYC
Current role: I am Partner & Global CEO of LLYC, the global Marketing and Corporate Affairs firm. I am responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of the Strategic Plan, driving CEOs in Europe, the United States, and Latin America to achieve business objectives. I directly lead the Key Clients plan, as well as the global plan accelerators for the Healthcare and Mining areas. I am actively involved in the M&A strategy and inorganic growth, as well as in LLYC Venturing, our corporate venture initiative. Additionally, I have been a member of the LLYC Board of Directors since 2011.

Previous roles: I started my professional career at LLYC Madrid in 1996 as a trainee, and in 1998, I moved to the Americas to lead the firm’s expansion in the region, launching operations in Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and finally, in the United States. Since 2015, I have been based in Miami, from where I lead LLYC as Global CEO.

A little bit about me: In the late 90s, when LLYC began its expansion phase and I had to move to Peru, I remember experiencing a certain level of 'incompetence'—not knowing anyone and facing customs different from my own, as well as the local language. This forced me to unlearn much of what I took for granted and to open my mind to new ways of understanding and doing things. That stage taught me to reinvent myself, to understand that adaptability and flexibility are essential, and that there is always an opportunity to envision something new. It also taught me to listen and seek consensus. When you achieve agreements, it becomes much easier to move forward, foster genuine connections, and work as a team. And this has been true at every step of my career, in each country and each new operation, undoubtedly shaping me into a multicultural and multidisciplinary professional.

Fun fact: I’m a sports fan and an amateur boxer. I love talking about cigars and scotch.

Let's talk: Strategies based on Big Data and trend analysis, also the integration of AI in marketing, corporate or financial communication, and crisis communication campaigns.

Page Up | Chief Product Officer, NewsWhip
Current role: I’m the Chief Product Officer at NewsWhip. We reveal the stories that are shaping the world in realtime, providing intelligent monitoring to communications professionals managing global brand reputations. I lead our amazing product, design and engineering teams, continuously innovating with the latest technologies to help our customers make better decisions.

Previous roles: I’ve led teams in several large enterprises and start-ups, all with a common agenda of driving innovation and transformation. From helping large telcos transition to digital customer experiences to building a mobile marketing platform for global CPG brands, I have unlocked massive business and customer value from leveraging new technologies  (ecommerce, mobile, AI). A guiding principle throughout has been centering all innovation opportunities around an intimate understanding of an important customer need or problem.

A little bit about me: My passion for product innovation extends beyond NewsWhip. I am a board member of the IRDG, an NFP focused on increasing innovation and R&D across Irish industry. I mentor start-ups, helping founders identify and improve product-market fit early in their journey. I am also a member of  the AI in PR Working Group for the PRII, guiding PR professionals in this rapidly changing landscape. AI’s transformative potential is something every business and person needs to embrace! Outside of work I love spending time with my family and my demanding but adorable dog, Amber.

Fun fact: My running hobby peaked a couple of years ago when I completed the Dublin marathon (not sure if I have another one in me!). I’m also a keen traveler who loves mixing a bit of adventure with some fine food and wine. I‘ve been a mentor at our local Gaelic club where my daughter plays camogie, and she and her teammates recently got to be extras for a number of scenes at the club and pitch in Season 2 of Apple’s show “Bad Sisters”

Let's talk: The changing social landscape (platform fragmentation, the role of influencers, AI generated content), the future of news (consumption habits, news creators, trust, misinfo, business models), the transformational impact of AI on communications practices (the agent workforce!), and what all of the above means for corporate communications, businesses and society more generally.

Page Up | Executive Director Global Public Affairs, Chick-fil-A Inc.

Current role: As Executive Director Global Public Affairs, I lead a team of 12 who collectively are responsible for promoting, protecting, and defending the reputation of Chick-fil-A Inc. Our scope includes media relations, stakeholder engagement, reputation tracking, issues management and analytics. I also help advise senior business leaders and our C-Suite on various issues, as necessary.

Previous roles: Prior to coming to Chick-fil-A I worked at the Walt Disney Company for nearly 15 years in various public affairs related roles including CSR, Communications, and Government Relations. Prior to that I served as Press Secretary to Florida Governor Jeb Bush. I also did a stint on Capitol Hill. I started my career as a newspaper reporter in Kansas City, Missouri.

A little bit about me: I love my job and working in the communications field immensely. But what I am most proud of is I have been married to my wife Jackie for almost 23 years and together we have five wonderful children, ages 10-20 years. As a family we have moved from Missouri, to Florida, to California and now to Georgia. I never thought I would work in this field, as I was convinced my calling was to be a reporter for the entirety of my career. However, I lasted for only a year in Journalism. What I love about this field is our unique ability to both be an internal counselor and advisor and external advocate and defender. I really love finding ways to address a specific community need with something our company can do very well, like finding ways to address community hunger.

Productivity hack: I’ve found I’m the most productive early in the morning. I normally get up between 4:30 and 5am. I have some personal reflection time and get a lot of work done between 5:30 and 7am. The only downside to this I’ve found is I am toast by 9pm every night, so evening events are sometimes difficult!

Let's talk: I love learning in general but specifically how other companies have used stakeholder engagement to both address a community need and dispel common or false narratives about their company.
